The day of returning home after fulfilling a prison sentence is one of joy, reconnecting with loved ones, and anticipation of the newness of life. Peter says: “Therefore humble yourselves under the might hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you” (1 Peter 5:6). Especially for those that have been inside for a lengthy period of time, readjusting to being “outside” can be overwhelming. Family members and friends, as well as the inmate loved one, should prepare for their release the best they can to make their reentry successful! Here are some sources of helpful information:
